THE TURTLE ISLAND
FLOATING WETLAND

Turtle Islands are floating wetlands that absorb and digest excess nutrients and create habitat for zooplankton that eat algae cleaning the water.

Community involvement
In 2025 we created another floating wetland as a community workshop at Mack Park in Salem Massachusetts. We had created similar projects for the Mall Pond in Newburyport and Butler Pond in Quincy all in the shape of a turtle as an environmental art installation.
